Jackson Weldon never had a Plan B. When he first picked up a guitar and began busking on the Halifax waterfront at age 14, he knew he wanted music to be his life. Before he could even legally enter a bar, the singer-songwriter had already played over 300 shows. When high-school finished and his peers ventured on to post-secondary education, Jackson dove head-first into the music scene: gigging anywhere he could, writing daily, and honing his craft in every way possible.
With a buttery smooth voice like James Blunt, his vocals stand in elite company, often stopping people dead in their tracks. That voice sits effortlessly on top of his warm acoustic tones, a comforting and dreamy soundscape conjuring memories of summer nights, innocence, and young love.
Jackson is a talent with a maturity well beyond his years. An old soul at heart, his sound has been shaped by a love of his parent’s record collection: The Eagles, Rod Stewart, Elton John, and The Beatles all finding influence in his sound. This has shaped a young man who appreciates both the history of his predecessors, and the nuances of a song. At the heart of his own creations is a palpable love for music—what it’s done, and what it will do for him.
